TENNESSEE PREMIERE Writer/director Ari Gold stars with Adrian Grenier, Jane Lynch and Michael McKean in ADVENTURES OF POWER, a comedy about a poor, misfit mineworker named Power, who sets out to change the world through his love of drums. The only problem is, he’s never learned to play – so has instead become an expert air-drummer, a skill which has yet to earn him the respect of his union-leader father or working-class town. Power soon discovers an underground network of people who play air drums competitively and his life changes forever. Sponsored by

After his friends are killed in a bizarre, bar room argument, Goran devises an unusual plan to deal with the loss: he will sell his house, buy a mobile tavern and travel from town to town, giving away free drinks to everyone he meets. But for everyone except Goran, the idea is strangely suspicious, and a bit absurd, in director Antonio Nuić's darkly humorous tale of loss and reconciliation, told as a metaphor for Bosnia's gradual rediscovery of its shared humanity, lost during the war. About the Director: Antonio Nuić was born in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina in 1977. He graduated in Film and TV Directing from the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb, Croatia and is a member of the Croatian Film Directors Society. He has previously directed numerous short films, TV shows, and music and promotional videos. ALL FOR FREE is his first feature film. Global Lens is sponsored by Dorothy Kirsch.

TENNESSEE PREMIERE ‘BAMA GIRL follows a charismatic black woman’s quest to become the 2005 Homecoming Queen at the University of Alabama, one of the great old Deep South institutions. Homecoming has a rich history at the University, tied into centuries of privilege, old money, power and racial exclusivity. This is a film about black and white, about the Old South and the New South, and about an unexpected microcosm of electoral politics that mirrors much of what is happening across our country today. Preceded by VICTORIA. After the film, please make plans to join facilitators from Common Ground for "Reel Conversations About Race."

In life, the smallest spaces often afford a stage for life-changing drama. THE BENCH offers two distinct stories that occur on one bench in a small park. "Extraction" takes a look at a young lady who mistakenly chooses the wrong person to help her re-gain control of her life. In "Sentry," a veteran allows us to see the outcome of attempting to maintain ultimate control.
